All that changed when I was referred to Jana & Ross! They listened hard and really tried to understand what I like (and don't like) and what I wanted. I love the Arts & Crafts movement and the way that simple materials like wood or iron were designed and crafted to be useful and also really beautiful – so I wanted the metal of my ring to be as lovely, and as important a part of the end result, as the gemstone. I didn't want the gemstone to be the hero and the shank the host – but for both to be gorgeous in their own right. Other designers didn't “get” this – but Jana did and I think this is because she is a rare talent and a genuine artist. The level of hand crafting in my engagement ring is astonishing; in its beauty, skill and intricacy.

It's artisanal – and I'm not sure there are many bespoke designers out there who have similar levels of talent or ability. I started looking around online for contemporary designers and stumbled across the Jana Reinhardt website. After a few seconds I realised I was in the right place... the designs were exactly the sort of pieces my partner would wear. I emailed Jana who responded almost immediately and opened a dialogue with me about my partners tastes, styles, my budget, etc. I had plenty of questions and Jana suggested that I met with Ross to go through options. From then on, Ross was able to advise and guide me through options around the ring and the stones and having finalised everything I felt thoroughly reassured that I had chosen the right people to help me. Amazingly Ross and Jana turned the ring around in super fast time and I had a magnificent engagement ring in my hand ready for the big moment. Needless to say, she said yes and is delighted with the ring. It is the perfect blend of classic, almost vintage, styling with a real contemporary twist. We both love it. I have no hesitation at all in recommending Jana Reinhardt to anyone and we will definitely be coming back for the wedding bands.
