Diamonds are Forever (or at least for April)
If you were born in April your birthstone is a diamond, you lucky thing! Since we’re now in the month of spring and showers, here’s a little blog post about the monthly attributes of metastable allotropes of carbon... or, erm, diamonds.
Birthstones symbolise the month according to the Gregorian Calendar. But what is the Gregorian Calender, I hear you cry?
Well, the Gregorian Calendar, also known as the "Western calendar" or "Christian calendar", is our very own, standard solar ‘365-days-a-year’ calendar! It was named after Pope Gregory XIII who first introduced it in February 1582.
Many people believe that being born into a certain month gives you special attributes and qualities, and that wearing the matching gemstone for that month will give you good luck. I’d say wearing diamonds is lucky whenever you were born! But let’s take a look anyway for all you April babies:

People born in April are said to be strong and courageous. The month of April falls on the zodiac signs of Aries (March 21-April 19), a feisty and adventurous ram, and Taurus (April 20-May 20) the stubborn bull. We can see the comparison; the diamond is harder than any other natural substance on earth!
