Our jewellery boxes are made from 100% recyclable card and paper. Our cartons and printed materials are all 100% recyclable and we even use recyclable paper tape.

Jack Russell Terrier Pendant with favourite toy in sterling silver, part oxidised, part 22ct gold plated

This is Charlie, the Jack Russell. His owner, Jo, is so in love with this little guy that she wanted to have a miniature version of him to carry around her neck. And who can blame her? Just look at his little face!

Jo emailed us several images and decided that it would be most appropriate to carve the silver Charlie in a sitting positions since "it shows more of the face and he has spent years sitting on the top of the sofa guarding against the postman" It was also important to Jo that the pendant shows all of Charlie's markings and his favourite toy, a little ball.

So I started with a drawing...

Once Jo confirmed that she was happy with the design, I started carving the pendant, which was roughly 2cm wide, in wax. I kept sending Jo regular in-the-making photos of the wax and to make sure all of Charlie's proportion are just right.

Once the wax was finished and Jo was happy with everything, we sent it off to be cast in silver. Afterwards, it was hallmarked by the London Assay Office and then we cleaned up the casting and soldered a jump-ring on, so it could be worn as a pendant.

Finally, the miniature Charlie received his markings. The brown patches on his head were imitated through gold plating and the black was achieved with an oxidising solution.

Jo was over the moon with the result (Charlie was probably indifferent :)
