Valentine's Day Gift Guide - our pick of the best (and worst) presents
Posted on February 01 2016
Ah February 14th, St Valentine's Day. Just two weeks to go until you get the perfect opportunity to show the one you love just how much you care. Or not, if some of the dodgy Valentine's Day gifts we've tracked down are anything to go by.
Can you imagine the horror of opening this card on Valentine's morning:
Perfect for the cheapskate Romeos out there, it costs just 7p. The feeling when you are dumped 2 minutes after your partner has opened it? Priceless.
Or is your beloved a fast food fan? Why not splash out on an appetising pizza like this one:
After all, nothing says I love you like a big greasy slab of junk food, with a side order of eye watering peppers and a big dollop of fragrant garlic sauce... yum.
And, check out this fabulous tandem glove:
The gift of choice for the seriously co-dependent, ideal for making sure your partner is NEVER out of sight and has to hold your hand ALL DAY, EVERY DAY (or at least whenever it's cold outside).
But enough of what NOT to buy. We hope our peek at the worst ever VDay gifts has made you smile, but it won't win you any brownie points in two weeks time. So here are a few ideas of some very pretty pieces of contemporary jewellery, guaranteed to make your Valentine happy.
You could say it with flowers. It's a cheesy sentiment, but your loved one is bound to adore the silver flowers on this bloom bangle bracelet, way more than real life wilt-y ones:
Or, rather than a naff soft toy (ever received one of those highly flammable Teddy's, bigger than you? yep, us too), why not gift your Valentine our super cute sleepy fox ring:
He's decorated with sapphires, super stylish and just as cuddly as any giant teddy. Plus, you definitely won't find him out with the rubbish on February 15th...
Thinking of singing your valentine a song on Valentine's Day? Save their ears (and your dignity) and let these little birdie earrings whisper sweet nothings to them instead:
From our Flock collection, they are a stylised classic, your nearest and dearest will wear and wear.
If you're not quite ready to pop the question this Valentine's day, but you want to let your partner know you're in it for the long haul, give them our ever popular penguin pendant:
Penguins mate for life, so this little chap is the perfect gift to let your Valentine know you'll be sticking around for good.
We hope our suggestions will help you to have a fabulous Valentine's Day, whether you're treating your Valentine or even yourself. And if your Valentine's day gift isn't all you've been wishing for, take heart, it can't be as bad as the tandem glove...
